Cats in the Yuma Foothill area instinctively know where to come when they are down and out. We don’t ask where they come from, they just come to our house. We are two seniors with pensions as our only form of income. We would surely appreciate any sort of donation as we must continue to purchase very large sacks of Kibbies and lots of cans of wet food on a weekly basis. This is what we do!
Our mission at Cat Oasis is to provide a safe haven for abandoned and homeless cats. We are dedicated to rescuing and loving these innocent and beautiful creatures. We believe that every cat, regardless of their past, deserves a chance at a happy, healthy life. Our home is a place where cats can heal and learn to trust again. We will continue to care for these amazing and intelligent cats forever.
When a new cat arrives and stares up at us with those scared and loving eyes, what else could we do? If they allow us to touch them, we invite them in. Sometimes this may take a few days or more. We are patient with them, but we never give up on them.
For now, we keep them all but at this writing, we have 11 cats that we keep in at nights, and another 4 that we feed outside. They show up in the evening and get food and clean water.
With regard to medical care, we can only do so much. With the outrageous fees Vets charge, we pray they never get too sick for us to help them. So far, so good!
